With more aspects of the home becoming smarter and interconnected in the past decade, it's no shock that the light switch would finally come of age. Los Angeles and Taiwan based XMT Lab have developed a breakthrough smart light switch, the Gecko Switch, and announced the launch of a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter to come to market. Tech and home accessory enthusiasts couldn’t be happier about the news.
“We actually reinvented the light switch so it is not fixed on the wall anymore,” commented a spokesperson from the company. “It is movable. And that’s the smartest part of this smart device.”
According to XMT Lab, the Gecko Switch is a wireless light switch that can be controlled using smart devices, but more impressively it sticks to walls and can be removed and stuck to another location thanks to a unique reusable film on the back of the switch. That means it can be placed virtually anywhere in the home. And you can change its location anytime you want.
The Kickstarter campaign has set a goal of $150,000 and is set to end on July-28 2015, PST.
